Austria rolled out the KlimaTicket, an annual pass that gives the holder access to all forms of public transportation in the country, to encourage increased use of public transport with an eye toward climate change mitigation. Amager Bakke is still new and experimental, so its long-term success is still unclear, and it is not completely emission-free yet.

Beaver dams also create wetland ecosystems that are practically resistant to wildfires.
